About Union Bay Cycling Team

-The Elite Teams (Men’s Cat 1-2, Women’s 1-2-3)
The Elite Men’s and Women’s Teams are the cornerstones of UBC. They compete in local, regional, and national level races. Each year the number of riders competing in Elite and Masters National Championships is increasing. This program is directly linked to our development team. One of the more important aspects of UBC is the complete interconnection between the development and Elite Program. Our Category 3 team is very strong and provides 1-3 riders per year that move up to support the Elite team.

-Development Program (Men’s and Women’s)
The UBC development program is geared toward new and novice racers looking to gain experience in the Cat 4 and 5 field. We foster an environment where new riders can begin to learn the intricacies of training and racing through group training and training camps. Many of our Cat 4 and 5 riders over time upgrade to the Cat 3/Masters team. Our development team provides the foundation for riders with ambitions to race in the upper categories, with most of our elite team members starting their racing career in our development program.

We will again be looking for new 2007 Development Team Members (Cat 4-5) riders. Our weekend training schedule will be posted on the Rides link to Start October 1st. Please feel free to join on ANY weekend ride. We will also be accepting a very limited number of upper-category riders. Please contact us for further information about those teams.
